This week Ann, Becky, and Dan discuss being a landlord. We often talk about leasing from the perspective of a tenant but this week we take a look at leasing your property as a landlord. Ann shares some things that you should place into your lease (if your state allows) to offer you as much protection as possible for the property owner. We look at things like acceptable noise levels, number of occupants, subleasing, maintenance, property inspections, and in Dan’s case wanting to disallow his tenants from having parties/gatherings. We also discuss the eviction process and how to place numerous items in your lease that if committed would immediately breach the lease and offer you a way to evict your tenants. We also learn that after eating edibles, Becky’s is really REALLY bad at math!
